PARALEGAL - TRADEMARK PROSECUTION
JOB DUTIES:

 

As a IP paralegal, your responsibilities will include assisting attorneys in all phases of US and Foreign Trademark prosecution, counseling and transactional matters, including the filing of trademark applications and the management of trademark portfolio files under attorney supervision.

 

Duties include the following:
  • working with trademark attorneys and other paralegals to maintain trademark prosecution files;
  • conducting PTO searches and follow-up investigative research regarding potential trademark infringements
  • processing all trademark-related mail and docket of US and Foreign trademark deadlines
  • assisting in execution of electronic and paper trademark filings with the PTO
  • corresponding with foreign trademark counsel, and coordinating the legalization of documents for foreign jurisdictions
  • assisting attorneys with trademark due diligence and other tasks related to mergers, acquisitions, trademark licensing and other transaction matters
  • other administrative assignments.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelors degree or paralegal certificate required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of trademark prosecution experience required.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must demonstrate compliance with California Business & Professions Code Section 6450 et. seq. prior to hire. Knowledge of PTO trademark rules and procedures. Knowledge of PATTSY, CPI or similar trademark docketing system. Familiarity with CCH Advantage Screening, SAEGIS or similar trademark screening search tools. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel is preferred. Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, solid interpersonal skills, be a team player and have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. Clearance of Firm standard background and conflicts checks required.
